A group of about 40 people gathered at the Chambers Food Club in Pasay on Sunday night, eating their way through chips and meatballs.
“We were really surprised when we saw that it was a popular food club in the area, that it got a lot of people here, that we got to eat together,” said Ms Sampaio.
Ms Sampaio, who is also an artist, said the group had never before met the Pasay police and had no idea how many officers there were.
“There were about 50 people in the room, but it was not so much of a problem.
There was no reason to worry,” she said.
“It was just a great experience.
We’re all really excited about going back to the city, and to the community.”
Ms Sampsao said she would return to Pasay for the next food club.
“My next food clubs are in the city and I’m planning to visit them,” she added.
She said the food club had no plans to relocate. “
If I’m not there to visit, I’m going to go to other food clubs in the country.”
She said the food club had no plans to relocate.
“I want to go back and try to do it again,” she joked.
